The Department of Posts is set to introduce a new premium delivery service titled 24 Speed Post, aimed at strengthening the country’s express logistics network. The service will be formally launched on 17 March 2026 in New Delhi.
The launch event will take place at the Rangbhawan Auditorium at 12:30 PM, where Jyotiraditya M. Scindia will inaugurate the service in the presence of Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani and senior officials of the postal department.
The newly introduced 24 Speed Post service is designed to offer next-day guaranteed delivery for urgent and time-sensitive consignments. In its initial rollout phase, the facility will be available across six major metropolitan cities—New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Authorities indicated that the service is expected to gradually expand to additional locations based on operational capacity and demand.
Alongside the 24 Speed Post initiative, the Department of Posts is also introducing 24 and 48 Speed Post delivery options, offering assured delivery timelines of D+1 (next day) and D+2 (two days) respectively. These services will operate through dedicated processing windows and priority air transportation to ensure faster movement of consignments.
Officials stated that the upgraded express delivery system will incorporate several new features designed to improve reliability, security, and convenience. These include OTP-based secure delivery, end-to-end tracking with SMS alerts, and a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payment facility for business customers. The services will also provide free pickup for bulk shipments, API integration for enterprise users, and centralized billing support for corporate clients.
To reinforce service accountability, the Department of Posts has also introduced a money-back guarantee in the event of delivery delays. The initiative is part of a broader effort by India Post to modernize its logistics services and compete more effectively in the premium express delivery segment.
Officials noted that the launch of the 24 Speed Post service represents an important step in enhancing India Post’s operational capabilities and meeting the growing demand for reliable, time-bound parcel and document delivery across the country.
