In a significant initiative aimed at supporting the transition of former military personnel into civilian careers, the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, will organize a Job Fair for Ex-Servicemen on March 20, 2026, in New Delhi.
The job fair is designed to provide a dedicated platform for Ex-Servicemen from the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force to connect with employers from leading corporate organizations and industries. Companies from sectors such as security, information technology, administration, logistics, healthcare and engineering are expected to participate, offering a wide range of employment opportunities.
The initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare to facilitate the smooth resettlement of veterans into the civilian workforce. Ex-Servicemen are widely recognized for their discipline, leadership abilities and technical expertise, qualities that are highly valued by employers across industries.
The Directorate General Resettlement has been actively organizing employment-focused events across the country to strengthen career opportunities for veterans. During the financial year 2025–26, DGR has planned a total of 18 job fairs across India. Seventeen of these events have already been conducted in cities including Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kolkata, Secunderabad, Jammu, Bhopal, Kochi, Guwahati, Dehradun, Bengaluru, Pune and Chandigarh.
The upcoming event in New Delhi will provide Ex-Servicemen with an opportunity to present their skills and experience directly to recruiters who recognize the unique strengths veterans bring to the workforce. Employers attending the fair will have free access to a pool of resumes of skilled and mission-ready professionals through the registration platform and will also be able to schedule interviews with shortlisted candidates during the event.
Both employers and Ex-Servicemen can register online through www.esmhire.com, an AI-powered job platform designed exclusively for Ex-Servicemen. The registration link is also available on the Directorate General Resettlement’s official website under the Job Fair section. Registration for the event is free for both veterans and employers.
The Job Fair will take place on March 20, 2026, starting at 7:00 a.m. at Aravali Auditorium, near Shankar Vihar Metro Station, Delhi Cantt, New Delhi (110010). The event is expected to bring together a large number of veterans and recruiters, further strengthening employment opportunities for India’s Ex-Servicemen.
