The Ministry of Steel has announced that it will organise an Open House on March 23, 2026, to address concerns and challenges related to the import of steel. The session will take place from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Steel Room, 3rd Floor, GPOA-3, Netaji Nagar, New Delhi.

The initiative aims to provide a structured platform for companies and industry associations to present issues pertaining to steel imports, including matters linked to SIMS (Steel Import Monitoring System), SARAL SIMS, and Quality Control Order (QCO) exemptions. The Ministry seeks to facilitate direct engagement with stakeholders to better understand industry concerns and explore possible solutions.

Interested participants are required to register in advance by sending an email to the designated address provided by the Ministry. Applicants must include key details such as the name of the company or association, industry type (such as automotive, aerospace, telecom, or defence), a brief description of the issue (within 50 words), and relevant references to any SIMS, SARAL SIMS, or QCO exemption applications, if applicable. Additionally, the name, designation, and contact details of the participant must be submitted. Third-party representation will not be permitted.

To ensure smooth conduct and wider participation, the Ministry has specified that only one representative per organisation will be allowed, and walk-in participation will not be accommodated due to logistical constraints. Confirmed time slots will be communicated to participants via email.

Stakeholders have been advised to submit their requests by March 20, 2026, before 3:00 PM, to secure a confirmed slot for the Open House.

The move reflects the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen stakeholder engagement and address operational challenges in the steel import ecosystem.
