PM announces ex-gratia from PMNRF

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives caused by a fire accident at a hospital in Cuttack, Odisha. The Prime Minister conveyed his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the tragic incident and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.

In a message shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister described the incident as deeply painful and extended his sympathies to the affected families.

Shri Modi also announced financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the victims. An ex-gratia amount of ₹2 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of each person who lost their life in the incident, while those injured in the mishap will receive ₹50,000.

Authorities are continuing their efforts to assist the victims and ensure necessary medical care for the injured. The incident has drawn attention to hospital safety measures, as officials work to determine the cause of the fire and assess the damage caused by the accident.
