Anushka Sharma was born on 1 May 1988 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India, to Colonel (Retd.) Ajay Kumar Sharma and Ashima Sharma. She grew up in a military family and spent parts of her childhood in Bangalore, where she attended Army School.
