Delhi Public School (DPS), Hinjawadi marked Republic Day 2026 with a meaningful celebration titled Khushi Utsav and Khushi Bazaar, designed to reflect India’s constitutional ideals of inclusion, empathy, equality, and social responsibility.
To make the occasion truly inclusive, the school hosted 50 families from a neighbouring Zilla Parishad (ZP) school in Nande village. The visiting students and their family members were welcomed as honoured guests. As part of the initiative, thoughtfully assembled utility and learning kits were distributed respectfully, highlighting the importance of dignity, compassion, and equal opportunity.
Students of DPS Hinjawadi actively contributed to the success of the event, participating with enthusiasm and a strong sense of service. Parent-supported stalls offering food items, ice creams, and simple games added warmth and vibrancy to the celebration. In addition, adventure and activity zones were organised to ensure a joyful and engaging experience for the visiting children and their families.
A particularly memorable moment was the national flag hoisting ceremony, jointly led by the youngest child from the visiting ZP school and the Principal of DPS Hinjawadi. This symbolic act reflected unity, equality, and shared pride in the nation.
Addressing those present, Principal Dr. Jaya Parekh spoke about the essence of togetherness and reiterated the message of “Anekta mein ekta hai, aur ekta mein bal hai”. She emphasised that all children are equal and highlighted the importance of sharing as a powerful learning experience that nurtures empathy and understanding.
The initiative received warm appreciation from the ZP school Principal, teachers, and students, who commended DPS Hinjawadi for its inclusive ethos, dedicated staff, active student participation, and the thoughtful vision behind the celebration.
Conceived as the foundation of a long-term commitment, Khushi Utsav and Khushi Bazaar are planned to become annual Republic Day initiatives. Through such efforts, DPS Hinjawadi continues to reinforce its belief that education must extend beyond academics to foster responsible, empathetic, and socially conscious citizens.
