Hyderabad, June 14, 2025 – The Hitex Exhibition Center in Hyderabad was buzzing with excitement as the first-ever Gaddar Telangana Film Awards took place. The biggest highlight? Allu Arjun, our very own “Icon Star,” won the Best Actor award for his amazing role in Pushpa 2: The Rule. This grand event, hosted by the Telangana government, celebrated Telugu cinema and honored the legendary poet Gaddar, whose songs inspired the Telangana movement.
A Special Award for Telugu Cinema
The Gaddar Awards are a big deal for Telangana. Named after Gummadi Vittal Rao (Gaddar), they celebrate films that show Telangana’s culture, emotions, and talent. Held on Gaddar’s birth anniversary, the awards honored movies from 2024 and even looked back at great films from 2014 to 2023. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and other leaders joined film stars to make the night unforgettable. Actress Jayasudha, who led the jury, said, “We picked the best from 1,248 entries to celebrate Telugu cinema’s pride.”
Allu Arjun’s Big Win
Allu Arjun stole the show with his Best Actor award for playing Pushpa Raj in Pushpa 2: The Rule. The movie, directed by Sukumar, has broken all records, earning over ₹1,800 crore and becoming a global hit. Arjun’s powerful acting, full of energy and emotion, won hearts everywhere.
While receiving the award, Arjun thanked his fans, saying, “This is for you all. Thank you to Sukumar garu, my producers, and the Pushpa team.” On X, he posted, “Honoured to win Best Actor for #Pushpa2 at the #GaddarTelanganaFilmAwards. Thank you, Telangana government!” Fans on X cheered, calling him “Telugu cinema’s pride” and “the king of the box office.”
Despite a sad incident at the Pushpa 2 premiere in Hyderabad, where a stampede caused a loss, Arjun’s spirit and the film’s success have kept him shining bright.
Why Pushpa 2 is a Blockbuster
Pushpa 2: The Rule, released on December 5, 2024, is a story of power, struggle, and victory. Starring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, it has amazing action, music, and dance. Shreya Ghoshal also won Best Female Playback Singer for the song “Sooseki Aggi Ravva.” The movie’s success shows why Telugu films are loved worldwide.

- Kalki 2898 AD, with Prabhas, won Best Feature Film and Best Director for Nag Ashwin.
- Nivetha Thomas got Best Actress for 35 Chinna Katha Kadu, which also won Best Children’s Film.
- Lucky Baskhar with Dulquer Salmaan was named Second Best Film.
- Sid Sriram won Best Male Playback Singer for “Nizame Ne Chebutunna” from Ooru Peru Bhairavakona.
The awards also honored films from 2014–2023, like Baahubali: The Conclusion and RRR, for their contribution to Telugu cinema.
