Strong pass rates and multiple distinctions highlight consistent academic performance across affiliated schools.

Students from Vidya Bharati-affiliated institutions have recorded an impressive performance in the Assam HSLC Examination 2026, with Jyotirmay Das of Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Patacharkuchi securing the first rank in the state.

The results underline a high level of academic achievement among students from the network, which operates across Assam through various educational bodies. According to figures shared by Prantiyo Prachar Sanyojak Mukuteswar Goswami, a total of 10,375 students from 403 schools appeared for the examination this year.

Of these, 5,623 students secured First Division, while 3,546 obtained Second Division and 516 passed in Third Division. In addition, 1,333 students achieved letter marks and 383 secured distinction, reflecting a strong overall outcome.

The performance was particularly notable at the institutional level, with 164 schools achieving a 100 percent pass rate. In 17 schools, all students passed with First Division, indicating consistent academic standards across several campuses.

Vidya Bharati schools in Assam function under Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam, while institutions in Barak Valley and Dima Hasao operate under Shiksha Vikas Parishad, South Assam. Together, they run 576 schools across the state, focusing on education in the mother tongue alongside value-based learning rooted in local culture.

The organisation follows a holistic teaching framework, known as the Panchapadi methodology, which aims to balance academic excellence with overall personality development. This approach is aligned with the broader goals of the National Education Policy, which emphasises comprehensive and inclusive education.

Senior functionaries, including Dr. Pawan Tiwari, Prof. Ganga Prasad Parsai, Dr. Jagadindra Raychaudhuri, Kulendra Kumar Bhagawati, Jagannath Rajbanshi, Mahesh Bhagwat, Niharendu Dhar and Dr. Dipankar Paul, congratulated the students and acknowledged their efforts.

Vidya Bharati institutions have maintained a consistent track record in Assam’s HSLC examinations. Over the past two decades, students from these schools have secured the top rank eight times, reflecting sustained academic performance. Previous toppers include Hridyam Thakuria in 2023, Meghashree Bora in 2019, Md. Sarfaraz Hussain in 2016, Gyanadeep Sharma and Stuti Khound in 2012, Prakashjyoti Kalita in 2011 and Jugal Talukdar in 2010.

The latest results highlight the growing role of structured school networks in improving educational outcomes in the state. With strong pass percentages and a focus on holistic development, Vidya Bharati institutions continue to contribute significantly to Assam’s school education landscape.
