The National Testing Agency is expected to declare the results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2 today, bringing an end to anxious anticipation among lakhs of engineering aspirants across the country. The results will be released on the official JEE Main portal, where candidates will be able to access their scorecards using their application number and login credentials.
The announcement follows the successful conduct of the April session of JEE Main 2026 and the completion of the answer key review process. Earlier, the agency had released provisional answer keys and invited objections from candidates, after which subject experts reviewed the challenges before finalising the results. The outcome of this process will now be reflected in the final scorecards.
Once released, the JEE Main Session 2 result will include key details such as subject-wise scores, total percentile, and qualifying status. These components are critical in determining a candidate’s eligibility for further admission processes. The percentile score, calculated through a normalization method, reflects a candidate’s relative performance across different exam shifts, ensuring fairness despite variations in question paper difficulty.
The final All India Rank for JEE Main 2026 will be prepared based on the best score obtained by candidates across the two sessions held this year. This system allows students to improve their performance and enhances their chances of securing a higher rank. The ranking will play a decisive role in admissions to premier engineering institutions, including National Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Information Technology, and other centrally funded technical institutes.
The declaration of results also sets the stage for the next phase of the engineering admission process. Candidates who meet the prescribed cut-off will become eligible to appear for the highly competitive JEE Advanced examination, which serves as the gateway to the Indian Institutes of Technology. Others will participate in the centralised counselling process conducted for admissions to NITs, IIITs and similar institutions.
Students are advised to carefully check all details mentioned in their scorecards once they are released. Any discrepancy should be reported immediately to the examination authorities through official channels. However, as per existing norms, the results declared by the agency are final, and requests for re-evaluation are not entertained.
With a large number of candidates expected to access the website simultaneously, temporary slowdowns or delays in loading the result page may occur. Candidates are encouraged to remain patient and avoid repeated attempts that could further strain the servers.
JEE Main continues to be one of the most competitive entrance examinations in India, with intense competition for a limited number of seats in top engineering colleges. The Session 2 result is particularly significant as it determines final standings and shapes the academic future of aspirants nationwide.
