‘Hyderabad, June 18, 2025 – Telangana is giving its students a huge opportunity! On June 23, 2025, the state government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, teamed up with 16 top organizations to offer free coaching for tough exams like JEE, NEET, and CAT in government schools. This exciting plan will help kids from small towns and poor families get ready for big exams without spending a single rupee. With help from famous groups like Physics Wallah, Khan Academy, and others, students will also learn coding, stay safe, and improve their skills. People across Telangana are thrilled, and X is buzzing with praise for this game-changing step to make education fair for all!

A Plan to Help Every Student
Many students in Telangana’s government schools dream of becoming doctors or engineers, but expensive coaching classes in places like Hyderabad or Kota are out of reach for most. Now, the state is bringing free coaching right to these schools, especially for kids in villages and poor areas. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy called it a “promise to give every child a fair shot” at success. The plan was signed with 16 well-known groups in front of education officials, and it’s all about using smart technology to help students shine. On X, a user named @SatishManneINC said, “This is a big win for Telangana’s kids!”
The program isn’t just about exams. It will help students in all classes, from young kids to those in Class 12, with free lessons for NEET (for medical colleges), JEE (for engineering), and CAT (for management schools). It also includes coding classes and safety lessons to make students ready for the future.
What These Groups Will Do
The 16 organizations are experts in education and will bring amazing tools to Telangana’s schools. Here’s what they’re doing:
- Physics Wallah: Run by teacher Alakh Pandey, famous for his YouTube videos, this group will give free coaching for NEET, JEE, and CAT to Class 11 and 12 students. They’ll also teach younger kids to get them ready early.
- Khan Academy: This group from abroad will share videos on science, math, and tech for Classes 6 to 10. Kids can watch these at their own speed to build strong basics.
- EkStep Foundation: Started by Nandan Nilekani, this group will use AI (smart tech) to teach Telugu, English, and math to Class 3 to 5 kids in over 5,000 schools across Telangana’s 33 districts.
- Pi Jam Foundation: Led by Shoaib Dar, they’ll teach Classes 1 to 10 how to code and think like computer experts, helping kids get ready for tech jobs.
- Prajwala Foundation: Dr. Sunitha Krishnan’s group will run safety programs for Classes 6 to 12, teaching kids how to stay safe from harm and feel strong.
- Educate Girls: Safina Hussain’s team, which already helped 16,000 kids join school, will focus on girls, making sure they learn and stay in school.
- Additional Partners: Other organizations, including Avanti Fellows, Quest Alliance, Sikshana Foundation, Central Square Foundation, Rocket Learning, ConveGenius, Educational Initiatives, Kaivalya Education Foundation, and Sampark Foundation, will provide specialized support in areas like exam preparation, digital learning tools, teacher training, and innovative teaching methods to enhance overall education quality.
All this is free, and the groups are working with Telangana’s schools to make learning fun and useful. Education officer Yogitharana said, “This will show other states how to make schools better!”

Why This Is a Big Deal
Telangana has over 25 lakh students in government schools, but many can’t afford coaching classes that cost ₹2 lakh a year. Exams like NEET (with 18 lakh students trying) and JEE (9 lakh students) are super tough, and kids need extra help to crack them. This program makes that help free, so students in places like Adilabad or Warangal can compete with city kids.
It’s not just about exams. EkStep will help young kids read and count better, while Pi Jam’s coding classes will prepare students for jobs in Hyderabad’s big IT companies. Prajwala will keep kids safe from bullying or harm, and Educate Girls will make sure more girls go to school, as only 65% of women in Telangana can read compared to 82% of men. These steps will make Telangana’s schools stronger and fairer.
Telangana already has programs like TTWREIS and TSWREIS, which helped SC/ST students do well in JEE in 2023. This new plan will take that success to every school, giving all kids a chance to shine.
Some Challenges Ahead
This big plan has a few hurdles:
- Internet and Power: Many village schools don’t have good internet or electricity, which is needed for online lessons.
- Teacher Training: Teachers need to learn how to use these new tools, like in Andhra where extra classes meant more work for teachers.
- Keeping Track: The state needs to check if the program is working well, but they haven’t shared full details yet.
- Long-Term Money: The NGOs are helping for free now, but the state must plan to keep this going in the future.
The government says it’s ready to fix these issues, with officers like School Education Director Narasimha Reddy leading the way.

What People Are Saying
Everyone’s excited about this news. On X, @IndiaToday called it “a fair chance for all kids,” and @SatishManneINC said CM Reddy is building a “tech-smart future.” Parents are happy too. Ramesh Goud, a farmer in Hyderabad, told Telangana Today, “My son can dream of being a doctor without us going broke.” Anjali, a Class 12 student in Warangal, said, “I love Physics Wallah’s videos, and now we get them free!”
Some opposition leaders, like BRS’s T. Harish Rao, say the Congress government is charging high college fees and delaying teacher jobs. On X, @Krishank_BRS asked for more details about the plan, but most people agree the free coaching is a great idea because the NGOs are trusted and it costs families nothing.
A Lesson for India
This plan isn’t just about passing exams—it’s about making schools better for everyone. EkStep’s AI can help kids learn faster, and Pi Jam’s coding will get them ready for tech jobs. Prajwala’s safety lessons tackle big problems, as over 30% of kids in India face bullying. Educate Girls will help more girls study, which is super important for Telangana.
Other states like Uttar Pradesh and Andhra have tried similar coaching programs, but Telangana’s plan is bigger because it uses tech and covers so many schools. Dr. V. Ramana, an education expert in Hyderabad, told The Hindu, “This is how you use NGOs to make schools world-class without making it a business.”
What’s Next?
The coaching will start this school year in junior colleges, with extra classes for JEE, NEET, and CAT. Khan Academy’s videos will reach 1,000 schools by July 2025, and EkStep’s AI will cover all 5,000 schools by 2026. Pi Jam and Prajwala will start in 500 schools each, growing later. Educate Girls wants to bring 5,000 more girls to school by 2026.
The state will check how kids are doing with yearly tests, hoping to make 20% more students pass NEET and JEE in five years. CM Reddy posted on X, “Telangana’s kids will dream big!” and students agree. One X user wrote, “Our kids are getting a bright future!”
Telangana’s free coaching plan is a huge step to help every child succeed. With big names like Physics Wallah and Khan Academy on board, the state is showing India how to make education fair and strong. Hyderabad is ready to lead the way, and Telangana’s students are set to soar!
